ESG Self-Assessment Online Tool
The "ESG Self-Assessment Online Tool" ("Self-Assessment Tool") is a free ESG self-assessment tool specifically launched by the Hong Kong Small and Medium Enterprises Association (“HKSMEA”)for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Hong Kong, and is one of the important educational tools of the SME ESG Charter 2025 jointly launched by HKSMEA and Dah Sing Bank, Limited (“DSB”). Through this platform, HKSMEA aims to forge close links with SMEs to help them implement ESG strategies and ultimately achieve long-term sustainable development goals.
The Self-Assessment Tool is a simple and interactive tool designed to raise awareness and interest in Environmental, Social, and Governance (“ESG”) issues among SMEs, and to encourage SMEs to understand and improve their own ESG readiness and performance. This self-assessment covers several key ESG areas, including carbon emissions, resource management, employee development and training, product and service responsibility, employee welfare, community investment, corporate governance, consumer data protection, and anti-corruption measures.
Upon completion of the self-assessment, companies will have the opportunity to receive an assessment report that reflects the company’s current status in various ESG areas. In addition, the Assessment Tool will generate an overall score for the company’s current ESG status, which will enable the company to track progress on future improvement actions. If an overall score of [40]% or higher is achieved, the company may be eligible to receive incentives for banking services from DSB. Please visit the SME ESG Charter 2025 webpage on HKSMEA’s official website for details. Verifiable company contact details must be provided and agreement to the following terms and conditions must be given in order to be eligible for the assessment report and overall score.
